Integrated Washer Dryers

An integrated washer dryer fits seamlessly into your existing kitchen cabinetry. It conceals your washer dryer from view, giving your kitchen or utility room a neater and more uniform look. These kitchen appliances are available in a range of different dimensions to suit the height, width and depth of your cabinets. They are also a great alternative to owning a separate washing machine and tumble dryer, especially if you have a small kitchen and need to use the available space wisely. Washer dryers are well-suited to small, frequent loads of laundry, and save time since you don't have to transfer the laundry between a washing machine and tumble dryer. Washer dryers are very useful if you don't have access to a garden for drying your clothes - no need to constantly hang damp clothes on your radiator.

Plumbworld offer a selection of integrated washer dryers to suit your lifestyle. Choose from a range of washing and drying speeds depending on your requirements. Shop the collection below.

How do I choose the right washing and drying capacities for my household?

Match the washing capacity to how much you wash in one go and the drying capacity to how much you want to dry in one cycle; many integrated models here are 7kg or 8kg wash with 4kg or 6kg dry. If you frequently wash family-sized loads, an 8kg wash with a 6kg dry will let you dry larger smaller loads, whereas a common 7kg/4kg configuration means you will often need to split the wash into two drying loads. For single people or couples who do small, frequent washes, a 7kg wash with 4kg dry is usually fine and saves space.

Will an integrated washer dryer fit my kitchen cabinet and what measurements matter?

The key measurements are width, height and depth: most models come in a 595–596mm width to fit standard base units, heights vary from compact 545mm up to 820–900mm, and depths typically sit between 540mm and 584mm. Measure the internal cupboard space including the plinth area and leave room behind the appliance for hoses and ventilation; a standard 820mm high cabinet will accept many of the 815–820mm height models in our range. Also check whether you need a shorter 545mm unit if you plan to fit it under a sink or in a shallow utility void.

How important is spin speed and how will it affect drying time?

Higher spin speeds extract more water, reducing drying time and energy use; the range here includes 1400rpm and 1600rpm machines. A 1600rpm model such as some AEG and Electrolux options will leave clothes drier after the wash than a 1400rpm model, so your 4kg drying cycle will finish sooner. Bear in mind delicate fabrics need lower spin settings, so look for a machine that allows variable spin speeds for different programmes.

Are integrated washer dryers energy efficient compared with separate machines?

Energy efficiency varies across models, the selection shown includes ratings from Class B to Class E, so efficiency depends on the specific model you choose. Generally, combined washer dryers can use more energy per cycle than a modern separate washer plus condenser dryer, but they save space and time by avoiding transfers. If running costs matter to you, opt for the Class B models on offer, even if they have a higher upfront cost, because they will be cheaper to run over time.

Which features should I prioritise if I have a small kitchen and need quick turnaround?

For a small kitchen prioritise a compact integrated width of 595mm, a practical height (either standard 815–820mm or compact 545mm) and a higher spin speed such as 1600rpm to speed drying. Also favour a 7kg wash / 4kg dry or an 8kg/6kg configuration depending on whether you want to dry full loads; for fast turnaround a 7kg/4kg 1600rpm AEG or Electrolux model is a good choice. Look for clear programme choices and rapid cycles so you can wash and dry small loads quickly without taking extra space.
