Product Description

The 138 Thermostatic Radiator Valve automatically adjusts the temperature of the radiator it is fitted to. The Thermostatic head regulates the flow of the water into the radiator and gives precise control of room temperature.

Operation

The room temperature is preset and the radiator warms the air to the required level. When the room temperature drops, the thermostatic head of the 138 automatically opens the valve and the hot water flows into the radiator, raising the room temperature to the required level again. Once the correct temperature is reached, the valve is closed and the flor of hot water stops. The thermostatic control continually senses room temperature and responds to other factors, such as sun light or the body heat of room occupants. If the air in the room is warmer than the required level, it automatically closes the valve and cools the radiator.

User Instructions

When a room is left unoccupied for any length of time, the thermostatic control should be turned to the frost protection position. This offers protection of the heating system from frost and also gives energy saving. If the heating system is operating, the frost protection setting operates the radiator automatically if the room temperature falls below 8 degrees C (47 degrees F). Turning the thermostatic head to the off position (0) will close the radiator down regardless of the temperature. Note that in this position no frost protection is provided.
