How do I know which seat shape and size will fit my toilet pan?

Measure the hole-centre width of your pan and match it to the seat ranges shown, many seats suit 101–150 mm or 151–200 mm centres, while a few cover 51–100 mm or up to 201–250 mm. Shape matters too: D-shape seats are common on contemporary close-coupled pans, round seats suit traditional bowls and compact cloakrooms, and square seats pair well with modern designer pans. an Affine D-shape seat will sit neatly on most modern close-coupled bowls, while a round Ceramica seat fits older, round-front pans.

Are plastic toilet seats durable and hygienic or do they feel cheap?

Modern heavyweight thermoplastic and ABS seats are rigid, scratch resistant and warm to the touch, so they do not feel cheap or flimsy. Some models include anti-bacterial materials to help keep the seat hygienic, and many have a two-year guarantee for peace of mind. Which hinge material should I choose: plastic, chrome-plated or stainless steel?
