Glazed Porcelain Tile
These porcelain tiles are made of porcelain clay that have been fired at extremely high temperatures. After this they’re finished to a high standard and glazed. This glaze is coloured and applied during the manufacturing process to ensure the best longevity for the surface.
A rectified tile has had all of its edges ground or cut to provide a much more precise edge. The biggest advantage to a rectified tile is the ability to use a much thinner grout line, making your tiles easier to clean and neater to look at.
9mm is within the industry standard when it comes to floor tile thickness so you know you’ll be getting a high-quality product.
A polished finish tile creates a stylish and contemporary look with an attractive shine, bouncing light around your room beautifully. As the name suggests, the tile surface is polished by a machine which gives them a mirror like finish, giving a high-end appearance which not only looks good, but is also strong and durable too.
Underfloor heating compatible
The biggest worry with a hard floor is that it's going to feel cold underfoot. Well it really doesn't need to thanks to underfloor heating, which is, of course, compatible with this type of flooring. For more information on underfloor heating please consult your installation guide. To see our range of loose wire underfloor heating click here.
Underfloor heating installation costs
Warmup doesn’t offer an installation service but their product installation can be carried out by most tradesmen. The exact cost will vary from region to region and if you’re in the process of replacing your floor then the cost to fit Warmup underfloor heating is often negligible. A pricing suggestion of around £200 – 300 per day would be fair and most systems can be fitted within 1 – 1.5 days. We recommend that you check your tradesman is a qualified expert with underfloor heating experience.
Underfloor heating running costs
Want to save some money? Who doesn’t?! Underfloor heating can have substantially lower running costs when compared with traditional central heating. Heat up times are faster and you can gain the same level of warmth from lower temperatures. Making sure your installation is well insulated is also key for an efficient system.
Keep warmer for longer with great insulation
We would always recommend using Warmup insulation with your underfloor heating installation. It reduces overall heat loss in your home, keeps the heat rising from your floor for longer, and it also improves heat up time. View our insulation here.
Stain Resistance - Class 4
Depending on where you’re planning on fitting your new tiles the stain resistance might be crucial to how long they’ll last or how easily they’ll mark. The resistance of a tile is classified using a 1 to 5 scale with 1 being stained easily and 5 having the highest resistance. The below chart will explain more.
A tile's strength is a numerical representation of how much weight the tile can support. These tiles have an approximate break strength of 150kg, the equivalent of a male Giant Panda.
Colour Resistance to UV Light
Some tiles have been known to discolour over time thanks to sitting in direct sunlight. Thankfully RAK have fully tested the colour resistance of the tiles in UV light and no visible changes were recorded.
