David Meadows: David Meadows. I am going to talk about the MagnaClean filter. This is a filter fitted to the central heating system to clean the system of debris and iron particles that tend to clog up the filters and the water exchangers in the boiler causing them to fail and consequently, you get expensive repairs. So, I had one of these filters fitted about nine months ago and the cost of the filter was about 90 pounds, the fitting was about fifty. The central heating engineer was absolutely amazed at the amount of stuff that the filter attracted. The magnet attracts debris to it, and he was quite surprised at the amount of rubbish that was still in the system, although it had been power flushed. Since then, I have actually cleaned the filter twice; so, that is three times altogether in the last nine months. The last time however there wasn’t so much on the magnet that attracts this debris, which shows the filter is actually, the MagnaClean filter, is reducing the amount of rubbish in the system and hopefully, this will mean that the problems that I had with the system previously will now no longer occur. I find it quite simple to clean. It takes me about 15 minutes. I may only need to do it once a year in the future and the appearance is really hidden from the view because it fits within the boiler casings, but even if it is fitted outside the casing, the appearance is quite smart and the product is obviously very well made and the central heating engineer said that although he had heard about them, he had not fitted one before and he was quite impressed by it, but I think the final blow was when he saw the photographs of the amount of sludge etc. that was attracted to the magnet because it uses the magnetic principle. So, I am very, very pleased with this and I am hoping it will mean that I don’t have expensive bills in the future to… and not to have to replace the water exchanger as I have done in the past.
