Honeywell DT90E Wired Digital Room Thermostat
The Honeywell DT90E Wired Digital Room Thermostat leads the way in energy efficient control by using advanced technology to maximise the energy efficiency of the heating system. The Honeywell DT90E Wired Digital Room Thermostat has been designed to provide automatic temperature control of gas or oil fired boiler systems, underfloor heating, electric heating and zoning systems.
Energy efficiency is addressed by state of the art control performance qualifying it as a Load Compensator. The Honeywell DT90E Room Stat has an ECO button energy saving feature which gives timed setback or boosts temperatures to reduce energy demand.
The Honeywell DT90E Digital Room Stat is a TPI (Time Proportional Integral) control product as defined in the Building Regulations, which make boilers operate more efficiently and provide close accurate control.
It also incorporates an ‘OFF’ setting that can be used for frost or hypothermia protection, assuming the system time control is also switched on. 'Installer Mode' also allows control to be matched to the system and user requirements, adapting minimum on or off times, set point controls etc.
Two wire, volt free connections are ideal for use with combination boilers or heating zones.

Very good controller
Pros: Easy fitting - two wires only. Standard wall box or surface fit.
Cons: Fairly loud click each time it switched on or off, and this is quite frequent, even to over-riding the pump over-run timers.
I replaced a standard manual controller with this digital one to improve control of our central heating. Excellent! It was a two wire fit and works really well, holding the rooms at a much more stable temp. than previously. One 'weakness' is the switching noise (clicking) which is much more frequent and quite loud as it hunts about the set temp. more - but this is a small price to pay and if in a hall or outer room would not be a problem at all. The eco feature is brilliant - going out for an hour or two, just touch the eco button and it saves fuel!

Cons: Initial set up is fiddly ( but not too challenging), The instructions could be clearer

Excellent replacement
Purchased this to replace old dial thermostat. This is easy to fit and operate, has a lovely clear display and is much slimmer than the old one we had. Shows current temperature all the time and has eco setting too. Much cheaper at Plumbworld than other suppliers.

Cons: instruction manual better from web download.
Maintains a stable temperature, this is helped by the cycling that can be setup in installation mode. For my old cast iron gas boiler I use the oil boiler cycle settings. Above the set temp the thermostat is fully off so no worries there. Likewise below the set temp the thermostat is fully on.
Much better than my previous digital thermostat and the relay click some people complain about isn't that load. Anyway copper pipes make clicks as they expaned with heat.
I set the ECO mode to 16 which has a countdown timer that I use while i'm at work,

Easy to Install
Product easy to install. Replaced an old inefficient stat with this new digital one. A bit of google research helped with the installation. If you have three wires, you dont need the neutral. Up and running in five minutes.
