Smooth as silk
Pros: Excellent design / manufacture / finish.
Cons: Fitting instructions
Excellent quality and much better than the various offerings I've fitted from local plumber's merchants over the years.
It's not cheap but promises to far outlast the 'paint over MDF' seats that tend to be offered in the 'colour white' market.
The hinges do just show a fraction - if the toilet is placed that it can be viewed from the side - so it's a shame the hinges aren't also offered in a gold colour. As the OH is fussily co-ordinated .... even on the loo!
The one adverse - as mentioned elsewhere - is the pictorial fitting instruction. The german design and manufacture shines through in the quality / finish of the seat. And the closing mechanism is smooth as silk. But the instructions appear to have been sub-contracted out to MFI .... if anyone remembers the quality of their flat pack pictorials!
However - just before fitting ...... watch the Video (on this site) of the young lady with long fingernails fitting one of the seats! Totally covers what you need to know to get it fitted in a couple of minutes (and keep both your cool and your fingernails)

Changing My Seat
I purchased this seat as a replacement for an old mahogany wooden seat during my current bathroom refit. It has only been used for a limited time but meets all expectations and has stopped my wife complaining about the toilet seat being left in the raised position!.It was in the higher price bracket but looks attractive and seems to be worth the money.

Best I've bought
Pros: build quality, quick release for cleaning, soft close mechanism, ten year guarantee
Cons: fitting instructions
After buying two seats from different retailers which were for ever going loose and one cracked, I thought it was about time I went for a better quality product!
This one from Plumbworld is just perfect, easy to fit, build quality is obviously top notch, and the soft close mechanism is a joy to watch too.
With a 2 year seat guarantee, and a 10 year mechanism guarantee you can't go wrong, and you really are getting what you are paying for, as explained you just need to order the correct size for the fitting hole centres.

I bought one of these and it was so good 'she who must be obeyed' made me buy another!
The easy lift off idea makes cleaning easier (so she tells me) and ensures all is clean and sanitary.

It is a suitable replacement for the standard seat that comes with a Senator close coupled WC and it surpasses the cheap plastic seat that comes with it.

brill product
Pros: easy to clean, quiet
this item is well worth the price, still cheaper than a lot of others. It stops the toilet seat from slamming down and possibly breaking.
