Hansgrohe Focus E Kitchen Sink Mixer Tap

Pros: Quality product, good price

Cons: 3/8" fitting

This tap is a simple, elegant design, seemingly well-engineered and very easy to operate. The air mixer on the spout works well to stop splashing and reduce the actual amount of water you use.

The 3/8"-terminated flexible hose ends are apparently a little unusual (I'm not a plumber) and I had to try about 4 plumbing supplies shops (including Plumbworld, ha ha!) before finding suitable little converter barrels which, strictly speaking, are not tap converters as such. But careful fitting with a goodly amount of PTFE has produced a watertight result, even with my high local pressure.

I don't know whether Hansgrohe are related to Grohe (like Adidas and Puma?) but this tap certainly has that quality look and feel and at the price seems very good value.

Better Tap

Pros: easy to fit

Bought this to replace a "designer" B&Q tap which failed after just three years of not particularly hard service. Quality of the Hansgrohe tap is excellent, really smooth action and very smart. It comes with a 5 year guarantee and all components can be easily serviced if that is ever neceassary - unlike the B&Q tap, which was only fit for the metal skip at my local recycling depot!

Elegance

Pros: posh at a sensible price

When art and engineering combine they come out with products like this. It added a beautiful finishing touch to our kitchen. It works well too!

Excelent design and proportions -- I can't understand why more mixer taps aren't built this way -- and of course superb build quality.

A really nice tap

This tap looks good and feels solid and of high quality. The mounting is very solid too - even on my stainless-steel sink there is minimum flexing. The supplied flexible hoses present a continental style connector which requires a 3/8" male adapter to connect to the pipework. The adapters I got were OK except that the internal bore was a little on the small side and would prevent the rubber washer on the hose connector from sealing properly. I drilled them out slightly.

German engineering still best.

Pros: quality at the price.

Cons: no real minuses.

This is a beautifully made and engineered mixer tap, which instals easily and works beautifully. It looks and feels solid and I would expect it to last well. Fixing nut with lock screws far better than common C-plate type.
Only minor points to mention - flexible pipe with red rubber band turned out to be the cold feed, oddly, and the connections were an odd 1/2 inch size needing a 15mm to 1/2 inch converter - easily obtained at plumber's merchant.
Overall good value for money - you would pay more for a poor quality chinese or whatever make from B & Q.

Look amazing

Had them fitted for a few days now and they look great and so easy to use.

Even my plumber was really impressed with them while he was fitting them..

Would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing kitchen taps, so pleased with them.
