CH Perfomance
Pros: impressive performance
Cons: slightly more expensive (but worth it)
Not the cheapest product on the market but this one certainly leaves the others behind. I used it on a 14 rad system, running it hot for 1 day, followed by 2 full flushes. The improvement in radiator temperature and complete elimination of boiler kettling is impressive

Pros: effective, fast acting
Cons: expensive, powder form difficult to inject into radiators
My combi boiler was making loud kettling noises at start up due to a scaled primary heat exchanger. I have tried several products for descaling the heating circuit (i.e. restorers and boiler silencers) and this is the only one that actually worked. I circulated the product for 24 hrs, flushed the system and the kettling noise stopped.
This product was not cheap but turned out to be worth the extra cost. I actually spent more money on several attempts with cheaper alternatives than I did on Fernox DS40.
I recommend you try this product first before power flushing or replacing the heat exchanger.

Ancient Boiler Revival(not the wife)
I have an 18 year old Baxi central heating boiler that I dicovered had never been installed with the required prohibitor and protector. After 18 years this presented me with a nasty boiler knock and sludge filled radiators. On a normal system this would not be too bad but with an 8mm micro bore system it presents major problems. After consultations with the technical people at Fernox who were exremely helpful and knowledgable I was reccomended to use their DS40 System Cleaner. I injected it into the system following the instructions that came with the product. The result was fairly good the knocking boiler was cleared and the system greatly improved. I left it for 6 months and decided to give it another dose of DS40 this time also removing all radiators and hose flushing them. This time the result was even better so the system has now been balanced and also treated to the Fernox Protector No 1. I am delighted with both products and the very rapid service from Plumb world whose prices are also very competitive. Will definitely use them for future plumbing needs.

Sludge Killer
This stuff has completely transformed my central heating system. It didn't even need balancing to get all the rads hot once this had been flushed though it! Amazing.
