dont pay a plumber
i rent a property for business in an old building so the plumbing is hap hazard at the best of times. got a blocked waste pipe and knew it was a long way from access point. bought the longest spring i could lay my hands on. it took a good bit of perseverance and elbow grease but i got there as the spring does exactly what it says in the description. it cost me about a tenth of what i was quoted from companies to sort the problem. well worth the extra effort.

useful but hard work
we used this to clear a victorian rainwater interceptor, with mixed success, was too flexible when pipe diameter is large but when used in 68mm down pipe much more controllable. useful in the situation when we couldn't get rods down as too limited space

Works well with elbow grease.
Pros: will unblock any drain.
Cons: needs elbow grease.
I'm not a plumber - merely a well intentioned DIY enthusiast that got himself in a spot of bother by managing to partially block a bath drain with flippin' concrete :-(
I clearly needed a tough tool for the job and the Drain Cleaning Spring proved to be that tool. The drain was however in an awkward spot which meant heavy going on twisting and slipping the handle in order to rotate the spring head - but eventually the concrete that i had so perfectly lined the pipes with was chipped free and the drain flushed clean. The only downside was that in my determination to rectify the problem I had created I managed to bend the rod and pull a muscle in my shoulder.
I'm quite good at wall papering though...

DRAIN PROBLEMS
Pros: easy to store as coils up after use., great for indoor use., simple to use.
Cons: bit messy due to hollow spring.
My better half had managed to block up our drain with kitchen paper after cleaning up after our new puppy! This item proved to be perfect for negotiating the Ubend and clearing the blockage. Much easier than having to use rods and clear from outside this item proved very useful in this case. The item was delivered very quickly, and allowed normal operations to be resumed without too much berating of either the wife or the pup for causing the problem in the first place! I would happily use this company again given the speed and efficiency with which my purchase went through.
